I’m very excited to tell you about my upcoming summer showing.

I want to invite you to a two-artist show at the Nedra Matteucci Gallery in Santa Fe,
June 21 through July 12.

This show entitled “A Lifetime of Learning: Two Artistic Journeys” features paintings by Chris Morel and the sculpture of Ed Smida.

Chris Morel, award-winning Plein Air Painter, is returning to the Berkshires for one three-day workshop on June 28-30, 2024.

The workshop is for all skill levels from beginner to professional. We will work outside on location, weather permitting, starting, and completing both a morning and an afternoon session. In case of inclement weather indoor studio space will be provided. A material list will be provided.

All you will need to bring is a great attitude, and a desire to learn to paint from nature.

This workshop will take place in the heart of the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains just 19 miles south of Taos. The workshop is for all skill levels from beginner to professional. We work outside all week.

All you will need to bring is a great attitude, a desire to learn to paint from nature and your supplies, of course (I’ll send a materials list to all those attending)

Morel Studio is open for the “2024 High Road Studio Tour”
Please visit my studio Sept 21-22 and Sept 28-29, 2024 for the annual “High Road Studio Tour”. My studio is located at 5330 Hwy 518, Vadito NM. It is exactly 1 mile north of Sipapu Ski Area on Hwy 518. So head towards Sipapu and you’ll find me just before the resort. I’ll be open 9am-5pm each day, so come see me.

The High Road to Taos Scenic Byway is a lovely, winding road through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains between Santa Fe and Taos. It offers magnificent vistas of snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, and charming traditional Spanish and Pueblo villages.
